ESG Fundamentals Workshop

November 21, 2024 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is excited to bring a unique opportunity to food and beverage manufacturers in the Peel region. This heavily subsidised one-day workshop is designed specifically for Western Australian food and beverage businesses to explore the fundamentals of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and its importance in today’s market. The workshop will be led by experts from Curtin University Business School, providing key insights into how businesses can identify risks and opportunities, improve sustainability, and start reporting on their ESG performance.

This workshop is for you if:

• You’ve heard the term ESG but want to understand what it really means and how it affects your business.
• You’re unsure about ESG reporting and how to communicate your sustainability performance to stakeholders and customers.
• You want to avoid the risks of greenwashing and ensure that your claims about sustainability are credible and backed by evidence.

What you will learn:

• Introduction to ESG: Gain a solid understanding of ESG and its relevance to your business.
• Environmental Strategies: Explore ways to reduce waste, energy, and water usage, and understand greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1, 2, and 3).
• Social Responsibility: Learn how to improve social outcomes, address modern slavery standards, and meet certification requirements.
• Governance & Reporting: Implement governance frameworks to manage ESG risks and begin your ESG reporting journey.
• Hands-on ESG Action Plan: Begin crafting your own ESG action plan, tailored to your business.
