Select a business location
Finding available premises
Prior to committing to a site
When selecting a site or premises for your business, it’s important to consider factors like land use zoning, traffic access, future development and environmental health.
Planning and building approvals are recommended prior to signing a lease or making an offer to purchase a site. If obtaining approvals beforehand isn’t possible, any purchase should be subject to Council approvals to ensure the site meets all necessary requirements.
Resources to help you find a suitable location
The City provides several resources to help you find the right location for your business:
- District Planning Scheme No 2: The City’s Planning Scheme sets out the way land is to be used and developed by classifying various land uses into appropriate zones eg. commercial and residential. *
- Online mapping (Intramaps): The City’s online mapping tool provides information about properties including zoning, area, dimensions and address details. *
- Copies of plans requests: You can request copies of building plans and approval documentation for a site, as long as you have the consent of the landowner.
- City of Wanneroo’s Business and Investment Support Team: The City has planners, building surveyors and environmental health officers who are available to assist you. You can visit the City of Wanneroo Civic Centre during office hours, send us an email or call to discuss your proposal over the phone.
*Please contact us if you need assistance with these resources.
