It is essential to confirm that your business activity is compatible with the zoning and associated land use permissibility of your selected site or premise. Always confirm compatibility before signing a lease or a contract to purchase property.

You can check the zoning of your proposed site or premise using IntraMaps on the City of Wanneroo website.

Once you have determined the zoning, check the land use permissibility for your intended business activity using The Zoning Table in District Planning Scheme No. 2.

Call the City’s duty planner on 9405 5000 if you are unsure or require assistance.

Use the business self-assessment tool to assist you to determine the approvals you may require and link you to the online application process. It only takes 5 minutes!

This is an optional step for those that would like assistance or the opportunity to discuss their ideas or concerns with a member of the approvals team before lodging an application. A pre-approval meeting may be particularly helpful if your business idea is innovative, tricky or different.
