Janice’s journey into the world of gift-giving began in 2018, when she identified a gap in the market for unique gifts tailored to those “hard-to-buy-for” individuals, particularly beer enthusiasts. Recognising the growing buzz around the craft beer industry, she founded Brew Crates, offering carefully curated gift crates filled with local craft beers, gourmet snacks, and other delightful surprises.

Brew Crates quickly became a hit, providing customers with the opportunity to give meaningful gifts that support local businesses. Each crate is thoughtfully packaged in a keepsake timber box, reflecting the care and attention Janice puts into every order. From nuts and jerky to BBQ products and chocolates, the selection is as diverse as it is delicious, making each gift truly one-of-a-kind.

In 2021, fueled by the success of Brew Crates, Janice expanded her business to include WA Gifts & Hampers. This new venture allowed her to offer an even broader range of local products, including wines, spirits, candles, and pamper products. Through WA Gifts & Hampers, Janice continues her mission to promote and support local WA businesses, all while bringing joy to recipients across Australia and beyond.
Janice’s inspiration for Brew Crates is rooted in her past experience running a gift shop and her ongoing passion for home décor gifts. However, growing her business hasn’t been without its challenges. As an owner-operator, Janice finds time management to be her biggest hurdle, especially when balancing the demands of expanding her offerings with the logistics of delivering hampers.
Looking to the future, Janice dreams of expanding Brew Crates and WA Gifts & Hampers to reach a larger audience. She envisions a future where her business has its own delivery vans and staff to help manage the growing demand.
